Week In Review: Rhonda

Another week behind us and ready to get some shit done this week!  I am one of those people who actually likes Mondays.  I love a fresh start to the week!  Full of possibility.

Monday and Tuesday were pretty typical – super busy and productive.  Wednesday I worked an online Facebook party for my Lippie Biz.  And the boys wanted mustaches.  Yep, typical.

Then Wednesday, I was excited for some customer orders to come in….then stressed AF to discover that the AC was leaking and leaving water under the floorboards.  However, thankfully we rent so it wasn’t really my problem – just inconvenient.

Thursday and Friday were more Facebook parties, target, and cupcake baking.

Weekends are for relaxing, hanging with the family, and grilling.  we rock at it.

I hope your week had the perfect mix of productivity and relaxation!

Week In Review: Ashley

Hey y’all hey! Hope you guys have had a good week and weekend. Have you been dying to know what we were up to? You were?! Great…let me fill you in then. 😉

Monday & Tuesday- normal everyday stuff. This was Cooper’s first week at DayCare. He’s going half days Monday through Friday. I was pretty much a wreck starting Sunday night. I am super great at compartmentalizing things and not thinking about something until I have to actually deal with it. I knew Cooper would be starting school on Monday…but I just didn’t allow myself to really dwell on it until Sunday night. My stomach was in knots. He was SUPER excited. My hands were literally shaking as I filled out some last minute paperwork at the school that morning, and I promptly shed many tears when I got back in my car. Cooper had a fantastic day though!

Wednesday- I was off work, and we started to see some weather affects of Tropical Storm Cindy. Sophie and I dropped Cooper off at school though, because it really wasn’t even raining for most of the day. 🙂 PLUS he still wanted to go. So, Soso and I killed time at WalMart and visiting Grammy at work, because it was her birthday. Around lunch, we headed back to school to pick up Coop. We grabbed some lunch…then headed home to eat and commence nap time. I can’t really remember what else we did…I’m pretty sure I grocery shopped that day. Not positive though.

Thursday- I had to work. The weather was bad thanks to TS Cindy.  There was lots of rain. Cooper’s school was even closed. We all survived though. Starbucks was still open, which I was very grateful for. 😉

Friday- We had work and school of course, but that night I got to hang out with my sister and brother in law who had just gotten back from Europe on Wednesday night. Grace and I had dinner with our friends Michael & Michael – then we headed to meet up with Grace’s husband, Dejan, at their new house. Grace and Dejan got back in to town on Wednesday night and closed on their new home Friday morning! This was my first time seeing the inside. We hung out there for a while talking and catching up before we went to downtown Ocean Springs to grab a drink.

Saturday & Sunday- Just the usual hanging out at Grammy and Ppop’s for the day on Saturday. I got my haircut that afternoon. Saturday night and morning I did spend quite a bit of time catching up on some shows on HULU. Sunday was a lazy day. I picked Cooper up around lunch time and we just spent the rest of the day hanging at home…with a short trip to Walmart for some more groceries.

And that is all folks! What were you guys up to??

Week In Review: Rhonda

As you know, we had a lot going on and skipped our Week in Review last week.  So I going to to just hit the highlights.  I had a kid-free two weeks, so it was both relaxing and productive, with a good dose of fun!

Tuesday and Wednesday, I took advantage of my solo status and worked at Starbucks and Buffalo Wild Wings…with shopping breaks.  I got a lot of blogging, working, and writing done, along with a healthy dose of people watching.

Thursday and Friday were spent getting some stuff done around the house and relaxing. I worked on some wedding party stuff, which was really exciting.  Friday night was supposed to be the night that Ashley arrived for a visit, but the airline had different ideas, so we invited Stuart’s coworker over to grill.  Stuart grills a mean steak.

Ashley finally arrived Saturday and we had a wonderful whirlwind day.  Shopping, happy hour, a tattoo for Ashley, and a night at the Fort Worth Stockyards.

I finally got to start wedding dress shopping.  More to come on that later.  Suffice it to say, nothing I tried worked, but I got a better idea of what I wanted.

After a Thursday afternoon spent at Starbucks working, Friday brought about a great surprise – Stuart took the day off to take care of our internet issues.  Once those were cured, we went to visit the marketing coordinator at our preferred venue.  We were happy to determine that it is THE place for us.  I’ll tell you more later!  Later that evening, Stuart surprised me with a date night to our favorite steakhouse.  I can’t recommend enough that you try out The Keg in Arlington for the kind of steak that that nearly gives you an orgasm.

We spent Saturday with all the relaxation.  We stopped by an open house for a rental house.  It was oddly situated in a sketchy neighborhood but was a super nice house.    Stuart once again surprised me as we dropped by our wedding venue for a quick beer (they were about to close).  We came home to grill again, which is always a good idea.

Sunday was our final morning without children, so we had brunch, then went to Stuart’s messy-ass office for him to do some work.  Then we hit the road to get the kids, which is always a grand adventure.

What did you do this week?  Get into anything fun?

Week In Review: Ashley

Wellll hey guys! I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve written a week in review. We missed last week. Life just got in the way BUT we’re back this week. 🙂

Ok, so since I didn’t recap the week before last – I think I’ll just do a mash up the previous two weeks. If that’s ok with you guys? … It is? Cool.

Last weekend I got the chance to fly out to Dallas and hang with Rhonda and Stuart. My plane was supposed to leave Friday evening. That didn’t happen though. After a mad rush to find a parking space and then HOURS waiting on the plane. The flight was cancelled and rescheduled for the next morning. That sucked so bad. I ended up spending Friday night at my parents, because they are a smidge closer to NOLA than my house. After about three hours of sleep I was back on the road to the airport. That flight took off without a hitch – except for when I got Dallas…sans my bag.

We still had a fabulous time! There was some day drinking, brunch eating, shopping, snapchat hilarity, girly time getting ready together….AND THEN we headed out to the Stockyards for the night. What did we do there? Well, I got a tattoo… we made friends with a band playing at one of the bars (per our usual)…and you know. Just a few shenanigans. 😉

I had so much fun…and I can’t wait to go back for a longer period of time!

The next week was the usual Monday and Tuesday work and after work grind. Wednesday I took Coop to get registered for summer day care and fall preschool. He actually starts tomorrow – and I’m quietly freaking out. He’s never been to any sort of day care. His grandparents and/or aunts and uncles are the only people that have ever cared for him in the absence of me or his dad. I’m sure he’ll do great. He’s incredibly social and eager to learn and meet new friends….I’m …well I’m just so nervous.

This past Friday night I got to go out with one of my favorite people, Michael, and see the band Dumm at the IP in Biloxi. I drank allll the wine and you know – just generally had a blast. 🙂

Saturday and Sunday we spent most of the day at my parents. Celebrating my dad. Cause you know. Father’s Day. 🙂

And now the kids are in bed…I’ve blabbed on enough about our ongoings …time to try to sleep while I stress about Cooper starting daycare. No big deal. 😉

What have you guys been up to??

Week In Review: Rhonda

Another week behind us, and what a week it has been!  I can’t even.  Let’s get to it.

Tuesday was just like any other weekday – worked, mommed, texted.  When mail time came though, my lovely Colourpop order was here!  You can see swatches of these beauties on Instagram.

I’m not going to tell you about Wednesday, because you got all the details in my Day In the Life post.

Thursday, I spend a good chunk of the day working in my journal to get ready for June.  I caught up on my DVR and did normal parenting stuff.

On Friday, my world came to a halt.  About 1 pm, I was in the kitchen with Nick as he made himself lunch.  I suddenly saw something move on his head.  I took a closer look and it was a fucking bug.  I wasn’t sure what kind of bug.  I picked it out and kept looking.  LICE.  MOTHERFUCKING LICE.  This was the first time in my entire parenting career to deal with it and let me tell you, I hope you never have to.  Every single person (myself included) in the house with hair had lice.  I immediately texted Stuart an SOS and he brought home what we needed to start the Cetaphil method.  I chose this because I like to minimize my kids’ exposure to toxins and my BFF Nicole had sworn this worked better in her experience.  I went through it with all four kids, then myself.  It took 5.5 hours to handle everyone.  I was exhausted and my back was aching.  Claudia fell asleep as I dried her hair.

Saturday, we got up and started washing and checking everyone’s hair. Turns out, I must have combed out too much excess Cetaphil, because all the kids still had live bugs.  I decided to redo the boys, but not Claudia because hers takes over an hour and she only had one bug and few nits.  I flat ironed her hair to fry anything I missed and we headed out to take the kids to Dustin.  Back in town, we went to Total Wine and stocked up.  At home, I found a dead bug in my hair and decided to have Stuart comb me thoroughly.  Everything in my hair was dead, thankfully.  With that behind us, we sat down to a dinner of chips and assorted dips and watched Dateline.  With the kids gone, we were able to actually be all over the house and not confined to our bedroom.

Sunday was the first full day without the kids and we absolutely took advantage of it.  We spent the day on the couch.  I never bothered with underwear.  I ate my brunch at the coffee table while journaling and we watched a lot of TV.  In the evening, Stuart went to work for a bit while I straightened up and did some doodling . Then he came home and grilled.  Such a great Sunday.

Another week behind us and now a week of deep cleaning, errands, and some Me Time.  Ashley is coming here this weekend and I can’t wait to share the shenanigans with you all.  Make sure you are following our IG account (@rageagainstthemomachine) and snapchat (RAthemomachine)!

Week In Review : Ashley

Hey hey! So glad to see you guys back for another look at what we did last week. What did we do? Not much really. Just the usual. Did I take a lot of pictures? Heck no. But what’s new??

So anyway. Let’s just start with Wednesday – you know as we usually do. Monday WAS Memorial Day, but we talked about that in the last WIR.

Wednesday we lounged around the house. The kids drug out all their toys, because would it really be playing unless every single toy was out of the toy box and half brought into the living room? Yeah. I didn’t think so. I mean. At least that’s how it goes around our house. We did manage to get our act together though and get dressed for the day at a reasonable time. Look at those cuties in their matching outfits!!

We went to the ‘park by the beach’ per Soso’s request. Sophie is finally at the age where I let her go on her own on the play equipment. I still hover close by, because she is still likely to easily fall down or you know, just walk off the side. But hey, we’re getting to more independence. 🙂

After about thirty minutes of play time the bottom fell out and we were confined to the pavilion. I had actually remembered to bring the bubbles, which were a big hit to pass the time as we waited for the rain to slack off. The kids ended up having a blast playing with each other under that pavilion.

Friday night the babies stayed with Grammy and Ppop, and mommy got to spend some time with Aunt Grace and Uncle Dejan. Their flight to Dallas then London that was supposed to leave Friday afternoon was delayed and then cancelled. That sucked for them. BUT we all got some extra time to see them before they left for two weeks. So yeah. We had mexican for dinner and then saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It was a really great night. Saturday morning we all just hung out at my parents, and that afternoon I took Grace and Dejan to the airport. They are currently in London having a blast and sending us some amazing pictures. 🙂

Doesn’t that look amazing? 🙂 Anyway, what you all up to this past week?

Week In Review: Ashley

Welll hey there party people. Yup it is week in review time…on a Tuesday…and super LATE on a Tuesday. But hey. That gave you guys all day to revel in Rhonda’s WIR…now it’s time to spend your night with me. 😉 Anyhow – let’s get to it!

I worked five days this past week. Shocker. I know. So there wasn’t too much going on throughout the week. Waking up. Surviving the tornado that is the everyday grind of getting myself and two kids ready to leave the house on time. One day I will be that mom that wakes up hours before her children and is all calm and collected as I allow them to leisurely wake up, eat a big relaxed breakfast, and get dressed in a calm and cool manner….. JK That will never be me. I mean. I aim to get close to that – but I’ll never be that mom. #notamorningperson This is what a lot of our evenings looked like…chill:

And there was some lego playing…

So yeah. To the weekend. The THREE DAY weekend. Saturday we woke up and lounged around the house.  Did some chores. Played with the wildlings. We went outside for a bit and blew some bubbles. How an innocent activity like bubble blowing could turn into something that involved baths afterwards…I have not clue. But it did. There were screaming kids – and hair washing … THEN they took a nap. After the nap, we got dressed and headed to the park in downtown OS. We ended the day with a trip to Target.

OH! And on Saturday these beauties came in the mail. {{all the heart eyes}}

Sunday started out much like Saturday. Chores and chilling – then we got dressed and went over to Grammy and Ppop’s!! They had been on vacation and the kids hadn’t seen them in two weekends…so needless to say those two littles were over the moon with excitement to get over there. As soon as Coopy found out where we were going – he started asking to stay the night. LOL He did. Of course. 🙂 And so that night Sophie and I went out to eat with Daddy at Patio 44 in Biloxi. It was so good.

Memorial Day we went back over to my parent’s. There was lots of relaxing. Forcing an unwilling daughter to take selfies with me. Some pool time. Grilling that resulted in yummy food. Chilling. Shopping. Naps. You know. The best of times. 🙂

What did you guys do this past week? How was your Memorial Day? I hope you got to spend the day with loved ones…and also spend a little time remembering those military service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. We may not all always agree on the political state of our country. Things are in turmoil here on the home front lately. BUT I feel like we can always agree – that under whatever circumstances – those men and women who died while in active duty serving our country in the military are worth being remembered for that. Because I know I’d never sign up for that. I know that life is a big sacrifice. And losing your life in the process – well that is an unimaginable sacrifice.

And now to end on a lighter note…I will leave you with some of my meme spoils from the week. It was hard to narrow them down to just four. But you know. I don’t want to overload you. 😉

Week In Review – Rhonda

Hey, hey! We decided to delay the week in review posts to enjoy our Memorial Day events.  Just kidding, we totally forgot it was Monday until after 5 pm. So anyway, on to my week.

I hit the ground running on Monday.  I kicked its ass and sold a lot of toothpaste and lipsense.  That’s always a good thing!  Claudia made sure to be a big help for me all day, but especially when it was time to do dishes, her favorite task.

I had lots of errands to run on Tuesday, so after trying a new hairstyle (obsessed with this iron that gave me fast and easy messy waves), we hit the road.  Shipped some orders and went to the grocery store.  Then came home to make dinner, which ended up being fun and relaxing.

Wednesday, I took the kids to the playground.  It was absolutely perfect weather and they really needed to run off some energy.  We had a great time.

I took the kids to Target Thursday in an attempt to get some birthday stuff done.  It was a fail.  However, I did come home and make a successful and healthy dinner and Stuart brought home a bust form he bought for my resale shop, which was really exciting!

With one day left before Harper’s birthday party, I had last-minute shopping to do on Friday.  After that, the kids helped me get some decorating done.  And by “helped,” I mean got in my way.

Saturday was party day and we had a guest cancel last minute leaving us with an intimate family party, which are my favorite anyway.  It was perfect and Harper was happy, which is all that matters.  We grilled in the evening and had a great time just catching up with Dustin and drinking too much.

Sunday, before Dustin headed back home, we had him stay with the kids while we went to look at a house.  It was an absolutely perfect home (sadly though, we didn’t have our funding worked out yet and someone else has already put in an offer) and it was exciting to start looking at houses.  In the evening, I stepped on a piece of glass with BOTH feet, because I am freakishly talented.  It was extremely painful and bloody.  We ended the day with grilling again and just enjoying the less-humid weather.

Memorial Day was absolutely lovely.  You know you’re having a good day when you totally forget it’s Monday.  We did what most people do and grilled and drank.  Which also happens to be what we do every weekend lately.  I also cut the boys’ hair in the afternoon.  It was just the perfect day at home.

Week In Review: Rhonda

Thanks for stopping by again!  I swear, I feel like I was JUST writing last week’s review.  Time really does go by so quickly, as evidenced by the fact that yesterday marked ELEVEN MONTHS away from my wedding.  Didn’t I get engaged yesterday?  I should probably plan something for the wedding.  Anyway, on to the week…

Monday and Tuesday were full of work and just Momming and I didn’t take many pictures or do anything noteworthy.  I can’t really tell you where the time went.

I wasted a lot of Wednesday playing in makeup, but eventually got down to business and got some blogging and and work done.  Then we went to dinner with Stuart’s coworkers at Rio Mambo, which was nice.  The food was amazing.

I did a lot of housework Thursday, including taking all my Mother’s Day flowers and rearranging them into more vases so that I could have them in different areas of the house.  I also had some product come in for my amazing lipstick business, Purple Pucker.

I decided Friday to put on some sexy makeup and lingerie and do a little bedroom shoot.  I intended to just get a couple of okay shots for some upcoming blog posts I have planned, but was pleasantly surprised that it was a lot of fun and I ended up with a lot of really good images.  In the evening, Claudia and I did our evening routine of waiting outside for Stuart to drive up.  It was a pretty typical Friday evening.

Saturday, after our morning brunch routine, we went to the store and upgraded from a tiny hibachi grill to a regular charcoal grill.  While Stuart and Claudia grilled steaks and veggies, I read and sipped wine.  I finally finished Evelyn, After. That’s a damn good book, y’all.

As always, Sunday was a day for mimosas, nails, doing Claudia’s makeup, and just lots of relaxing.  Stuart cleaned the motorcycle and grilled again.  After the kids were in bed, we jumped into ours and watched the Billboard Music Awards.  I am such an awards show junkie!

Are you into awards shows?  What did you do over the week?

Week In Review: Ashley

What up people? Ready for another exhilarating week in review?? 😉 LOL Really though – it is good to look back at what we did over the past week. And you’re here, so you must enjoy it too. 😉 Alright alright…let’s get to it shall we?

Monday and Tuesday were the usual yada yada…also I didn’t take any pictures from those days..so I can’t remember what we did. However, on Wednesday we went to the trampoline park with Aunt Grace. I took way more videos than I did still pictures this time. It’s always fun going there when we have the place to ourselves…and it’s always especially fun when we have Gracie there to hang out with! We made a trip to Target and Chick-Fil-A after all the jumping. Then I put the kids down for naps and tackled some household chores. Fun stuff like laundry and dishes. 🙂

When the kids woke up we all put on our swimsuits and went over to Aunt Grace’s pool. Sophie was pretty dang excited. It took Cooper FOREVER to even get in the pool. He’s a pretty cautious dude. Some of that is his Dad’s fault (pretty much the biggest worrier I know) and also I may or may have not coddled him a little. Sophie’s got second kid probz for real – I literally just grabbed her and pulled her in. She loved it though.

I had a little shopping drama Thursday. Because of FOMO I all of a sudden decided I needed those pretty rose gold sandals from Target. I placed an online order for pick up and about two hours later they emailed me saying that the shoes were no longer available. The shoes were no longer available ANYWHERE. Well. Anywhere near me. Thankfully, I have a friend who was in CA and the shoes were available there. So. Problem solved. Tragedy averted. Thanks Jen!

That night there was wine and blogging.

Friday night we went to Cooper and Sophie’s cousin’s, Nathan,  HS Graduation. Nathan was only 10 or 11 when I first started dating the kid’s dad. I absolutely cannot believe how quickly time has passed and that little kid is now headed to college. It was a really nice night – the weather threatened to rain; however, the rain held off!

Saturday morning I put on my new Nickel and Suede Earrings (Coop said – “Why those earrings have a hole cut in them??” I then died. hahaha) But yeah. We all got dressed and headed to Nathan’s graduation party. It was really cute. The party was for a group of Nathan and his friends who have all known each other since elementary school. Each family had their own table that the parents decorated. Nathan’s was a soccer theme. I and various rotating family members spent a lot of time outside with the kids. They weren’t really in to the whole let’s just sit at this table and chill plan. We had a good time though.

Since it was a nice day – and the children needed to burn off some energy, we went out for a little nature trail hiking. We actually saw two baby alligators this time. We’ve been going to the Gulf Islands Nat’L Seashore Park for a while now and this was the FIRST time we got to see an alligator. The kids loved it. That day there were no naps …so by 7 pm my little wildlings were in the bath and headed toward bed. All the praise hands for bedtime on full days.

Sunday was a super chill day. It rained on and off pretty much all day. We spent the entire morning and early afternoon at home. When the children woke from their naps we went to Target for a little grocery shopping…you know – among other things. Other things being that purse you just scrolled past.

This picture is actually from Saturday night but ya know. Are you guys going to really hold me accountable for keeping my pictures in timeline order?? Probably not. Anyhow – that’s our week. What did you guys do? Anyone else attending graduations? It’s definitely that time of year!
