Week In Review: Rhonda

God, that week felt so long.  It seemed to just drag on and was exhausted the entire week.  I think I know why though, and more about that later.  So let’s recap.

Seriously, Monday through Friday were an absolute blur.  Sleepiness, exhaustion, Target runs, with Wine Wednesday up in the middle.  Also at some point during the week, I made a HUGE business decision and spent a lot of time planning for that.

I also decided during the week that the reason I have been so tired and moody and run-down is due to backsliding on my healthy lifestyle.  Since moving, things have been wild and busy and definitely unhealthy.  I decided that Monday would be a reboot.  Meal prep and workouts on their way!

Saturday we got up and got busy shopping for things for the house and putting up lights in the backyard.  We had “a few friends” over (let’s just call it what it was – a hell of a party) and Stuart set the backyard on fire.  So that was lovely.

Sunday, Stuart, Claudia, and I hopped in the car and spent the afternoon in some different areas of the DFW.  We went to the Japanese book store Kinokuniya to get my copper Leuchtturm1917 journal that I’ve wanted for a few months.  Then we went to get some Bing Su (a tasty shaved ice treat) while we were in this Asian strip mall.  After that, we headed to IKEA where Claudia promptly made herself at home.  She wanted to sit in every chair and lie down in every bed.  Stuart and I argued over chairs, because of course.  Back at home, Stuart hung more lights in the backyard and grilled and Quentin and I prepped my lunches for the week.

Now I’m ready to tackle a new week. We are starting school and I am rebooting a healthy lifestyle. Do you ever feel like you just need to start over on everything?

Week In Review – Rhonda

Hey, hey! We decided to delay the week in review posts to enjoy our Memorial Day events.  Just kidding, we totally forgot it was Monday until after 5 pm. So anyway, on to my week.

I hit the ground running on Monday.  I kicked its ass and sold a lot of toothpaste and lipsense.  That’s always a good thing!  Claudia made sure to be a big help for me all day, but especially when it was time to do dishes, her favorite task.

I had lots of errands to run on Tuesday, so after trying a new hairstyle (obsessed with this iron that gave me fast and easy messy waves), we hit the road.  Shipped some orders and went to the grocery store.  Then came home to make dinner, which ended up being fun and relaxing.

Wednesday, I took the kids to the playground.  It was absolutely perfect weather and they really needed to run off some energy.  We had a great time.

I took the kids to Target Thursday in an attempt to get some birthday stuff done.  It was a fail.  However, I did come home and make a successful and healthy dinner and Stuart brought home a bust form he bought for my resale shop, which was really exciting!

With one day left before Harper’s birthday party, I had last-minute shopping to do on Friday.  After that, the kids helped me get some decorating done.  And by “helped,” I mean got in my way.

Saturday was party day and we had a guest cancel last minute leaving us with an intimate family party, which are my favorite anyway.  It was perfect and Harper was happy, which is all that matters.  We grilled in the evening and had a great time just catching up with Dustin and drinking too much.

Sunday, before Dustin headed back home, we had him stay with the kids while we went to look at a house.  It was an absolutely perfect home (sadly though, we didn’t have our funding worked out yet and someone else has already put in an offer) and it was exciting to start looking at houses.  In the evening, I stepped on a piece of glass with BOTH feet, because I am freakishly talented.  It was extremely painful and bloody.  We ended the day with grilling again and just enjoying the less-humid weather.

Memorial Day was absolutely lovely.  You know you’re having a good day when you totally forget it’s Monday.  We did what most people do and grilled and drank.  Which also happens to be what we do every weekend lately.  I also cut the boys’ hair in the afternoon.  It was just the perfect day at home.

Week In Review: Ashley

What up people? Ready for another exhilarating week in review?? 😉 LOL Really though – it is good to look back at what we did over the past week. And you’re here, so you must enjoy it too. 😉 Alright alright…let’s get to it shall we?

Monday and Tuesday were the usual yada yada…also I didn’t take any pictures from those days..so I can’t remember what we did. However, on Wednesday we went to the trampoline park with Aunt Grace. I took way more videos than I did still pictures this time. It’s always fun going there when we have the place to ourselves…and it’s always especially fun when we have Gracie there to hang out with! We made a trip to Target and Chick-Fil-A after all the jumping. Then I put the kids down for naps and tackled some household chores. Fun stuff like laundry and dishes. 🙂

When the kids woke up we all put on our swimsuits and went over to Aunt Grace’s pool. Sophie was pretty dang excited. It took Cooper FOREVER to even get in the pool. He’s a pretty cautious dude. Some of that is his Dad’s fault (pretty much the biggest worrier I know) and also I may or may have not coddled him a little. Sophie’s got second kid probz for real – I literally just grabbed her and pulled her in. She loved it though.

I had a little shopping drama Thursday. Because of FOMO I all of a sudden decided I needed those pretty rose gold sandals from Target. I placed an online order for pick up and about two hours later they emailed me saying that the shoes were no longer available. The shoes were no longer available ANYWHERE. Well. Anywhere near me. Thankfully, I have a friend who was in CA and the shoes were available there. So. Problem solved. Tragedy averted. Thanks Jen!

That night there was wine and blogging.

Friday night we went to Cooper and Sophie’s cousin’s, Nathan,  HS Graduation. Nathan was only 10 or 11 when I first started dating the kid’s dad. I absolutely cannot believe how quickly time has passed and that little kid is now headed to college. It was a really nice night – the weather threatened to rain; however, the rain held off!

Saturday morning I put on my new Nickel and Suede Earrings (Coop said – “Why those earrings have a hole cut in them??” I then died. hahaha) But yeah. We all got dressed and headed to Nathan’s graduation party. It was really cute. The party was for a group of Nathan and his friends who have all known each other since elementary school. Each family had their own table that the parents decorated. Nathan’s was a soccer theme. I and various rotating family members spent a lot of time outside with the kids. They weren’t really in to the whole let’s just sit at this table and chill plan. We had a good time though.

Since it was a nice day – and the children needed to burn off some energy, we went out for a little nature trail hiking. We actually saw two baby alligators this time. We’ve been going to the Gulf Islands Nat’L Seashore Park for a while now and this was the FIRST time we got to see an alligator. The kids loved it. That day there were no naps …so by 7 pm my little wildlings were in the bath and headed toward bed. All the praise hands for bedtime on full days.

Sunday was a super chill day. It rained on and off pretty much all day. We spent the entire morning and early afternoon at home. When the children woke from their naps we went to Target for a little grocery shopping…you know – among other things. Other things being that purse you just scrolled past.

This picture is actually from Saturday night but ya know. Are you guys going to really hold me accountable for keeping my pictures in timeline order?? Probably not. Anyhow – that’s our week. What did you guys do? Anyone else attending graduations? It’s definitely that time of year!

Week In Review: Ashley

Hey y’all! Welcome back another glimpse into our past week. What DID we do? Let’s see … let’s see…

Wednesday was my off day this past week. It typically is..unless something special is going on that week for me or one of my co workers. We got up per usual that day, early early…whereas throughout the rest of the week I’m dragging those little butts out of bed. We did the usual: hung around the house relaxing and cleaning up a bit. Then we all got ready and headed to Target – to scope out some stuff for Cooper’s upcoming birthday party. He wanted a Power Ranger Party, and thankfully, there is a Power Ranger movie out right now. I was able to find all the decorations super easily.

After Target, we headed straight for the park. It was a beautiful day. We went to our favorite park on the beach in Ocean Springs. The kids played for a while on the equipment – then we decided to take a walk on the beach and dip our toes in the sand (well…and hands and legs and heads…apparently). I think this upcoming Wednesday we’ll wear swim suits and have a full on beach day. 🙂

Aunt Grace came over and hung out for a little bit at the house after the kids woke up from their nap. That was super fun. 🙂 Coop and Soso always love waking up to find Gracie at the house. I THINK we went back to the store after she left. Yeah. We definitely went to WalMart. I had to buy milk and other essentials. I feel like I’m always at some store or another…. lol That night I cooked dinner…and we did the usual shabang.

Friday night – the kids stayed at Grammy and Ppop’s, and mommy was able to run around doing last minute shopping for Cooper’s party which was that Sunday. I got all kinds of food. I also got Coop a Power Ranger shirt and Sophie got a CUTE Power Ranger (or PowPow…as she says) dress to match.

Saturday was my birthday spa day! I spent most of the day at the IP Casino enjoying their spa amenities and receiving a massage and facial. It was amazing. I was super anxious and nervous beforehand. Why? Eh just all the unknown. Where do I go? What do I say? I was all alone…so I also didn’t have the safety net of having someone I know and am comfortable with there. BUT like I said the whole experience was amazing. The staff was super friendly and really put my mind at ease as soon as I walked in the door. The massage was my favorite part. That was my first time to have one. I’m definitely wanting to make it a regular thing now. 😉 I did enjoy the facial. I wasn’t blown away by it though. I honestly have a pretty thorough skin care regimen that I follow on a daily and weekly basis. I didn’t feel like the facialist told me or did anything that I don’t already do….except for the face steaming part. AND there was a lot more talking involved than I expected there to be. It felt like getting a haircut. That obligatory small talk…that turns into a stranger telling you their whole life story. Small talk = this introvert’s nightmare Sooo yeah. I survived that part though. 😉 haha

Sunday was Cooper’s much awaited party. We really had a great time. HE had a blast, which is all that matters. If you were there – and you are reading this – thank you so much for coming and making his day special!

Alright guys! That’s what I got for this week. What were you all up to?

Week in Review: Rhonda

I don’t even know where the week went.  We took Spring Break and I was sick for most of it.  I still am.  Quite an adventure.

Since we had spent the entire previous day on the road and Stuart had then gone to his lab until midnight, he took Monday off.  It was so nice to have a Sunday on a Monday.  I got to meal plan over brunch, then go to the store with my favorite people.  Nick even got back to helping me take out the garbage.  It had been his job for so long, but we kept losing track of time and it was always too dark for him to go to the dumpster alone.

Tuesday was hair wash day for the first time since having it colored again.  Luckily that went well.  The highlight of the day though was finally getting in this shirt from my shop.  Tee available here.

Wednesday consisted of a lot of blog and shop work.  It went by in such a blur.  On Thursday, we made a Target run and I was able to exercise restraint, which is rare but good.  I got a cute Easter decoration that looks so great on our mantel.

Friday, I started feeling a lot of symptoms of a cold, but chalked it up to being tired and and severe allergies.  It definitely got better when Stuart arrived home with a box of fun from the liquor store.  Carnitas for dinner fixed it all up.

Saturday is always my boo.  Time spent hanging out with my people is always a winner.  We took the littles to Stuart’s lab for a bit and fed the resident kitty.

Sunday somehow outdid Saturday for once.  After our brunch, it was naptime.  Claudia ended up invading ours and passed out on me.  We went to the playground when we got up and it was lovely.  Nice and breezy.  Unfortunately, I was too sick to thoroughly enjoy it.  We ended the weekend as usual – with some Dateline and Killing Fields episodes.

Do you have weekend routines like we do?

Week In Review: Ashley

Hey y’all… and welcome back to another Week In Review by yours truly. 😉 Let’s see what were we up to this past week? Monday and Tuesday were pretty typical. Work go home…etc etc. We did have to start a count down to Ppop’s house for Cooper.

That kid. He has a flair for the dramatics…for sure. Therefore the nightly countdown is necessary to help him get through the LONG week ..you know…before he gets to go back to his Ppop’s house the following weekend. lol

Wednesday, I was off. I decided to take the kids to the park, which was not the best decision. You see, we got a little taste of winter this past week. It was pretty dang cold at the park. We literally only lasted 30 minutes before it was time to go. And by we, I mean mommy. The children would have stayed out until their little fingers froze off.

So, after our failed park visit – we headed to Target for some things we needed. Of course, we grabbed Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Halfway through our Target trip I informed Cooper that he’d have to take a nap when we got back home. That little announcement didn’t go over well..so I spent the last half of my trip listening to him whine and complain and tell me how he was “plenty rested” from the night before. That was super fun.

Sophie was all about that nap time. Coop, true to his word, did not take a nap. Mom had things to do – so I put him to work. 😉 We washed dishes, changed several light bulbs, did a little laundry, cleaned the floors, etc.

He was a huge help…and the joke was on me…because he loved helping me. hehe He always has though. 🙂

Just LOOK at that baby pony tail. She’s so stinking cute. Alllll the heart eye emojis at that.

Friday was St. Patrick’s day. I somehow remembered to dress everyone (including myself) in some shade of green. 🙂 Anddd I celebrated that night in true cliche parent fashion, by sleeping in my bed. All night. Well, except when someone needed a sippy cup with some milk in it. 😉

Andddd Saturday night I got to see my love! 🙂  Our friend Michael also came out to hang…and Stuart was there too – but I didn’t get any selfies with him. 🙁 We went to eat at Chill and then went to the Chill Lounge at the IP Casino. It took FOREVER to get our meal at Chili’s. So by the time we made it to the Chill –  the place was packed. Our poor little feet were dying by the end of the night – cause you know: heels. It was so much fun seeing Rhonda…but that night and the whole weekend, actually, went by waaaaaaay too quickly. I will definitely be planning a trip to Dallas soon!

Anyway, that’s what my week looked like. How was yours? What did you guys do? Anything fun for St. Patricks Day?

What We Wore

Hey y’all! Welcome back to another Wednesday of parading our fanciest of outfits for you guys to oogle over. JK hehe Anyway, you guys know the drill – if not, today is the day of the week that we compile our chosen outfits from the previous week. Why are we showing you what we wore? Well, we like clothes and take joy in choosing our outfits each day. Also, we are hoping to maybe inspire you whenever YOU are standing at your closet….staring…thinking to yourself , “I have NO clothes.” I mean, at least that’s usually what WE think when we are doing that. 🙂 So yeah, we hope you enjoy seeing what we’ve worn!

Shirt: Ross Pants: Black leggings for the win Earrings: N&S Black
