Week In Review: Ashley

Let’s see shall we?

Monday & Tuesday – We did the whole school/grandparent drop off, work, coffee, kid pick up, make dinner the kids won’t eat, play, chores, wine for mommy, bath/bedtime routine. Cooper cried every single day at drop off this week. Like. Screaming and crying. That was fun and definitely not emotionally exhausting for both of us. We survived though. Sophie seems ready to stay at school in a moment’s notice. On Wednesday I have to pry her away.. You know. While Cooper is screaming for me to stay with him.  🙁

Wednesday – Oh glorious day off in the middle of the week. I love it. Sophie and I took Cooper to school and then hit up Target. We got all of Cooper’s fall school supplies. I love school supplies shopping. Except for the hot minute that I thought I’d have to spend $30 for 300 paper plates. Thankfully, I found a 300 ct Target brand pack that was only $10.  We also went to Chick Fil A so that the kids could play and get some energy out. That afternoon they both had a doctor’s appointment. They’ve both had colds for about a month now that I can’t get rid of. However, according to Dr. Harper – they are suffering from intense allergies. So we got some medicine and I did some deep cleaning of their room to help cut down on the allergen inducing things. That night Rhonda and I went live on our Facebook Page for Wine Wednesday. Make sure you guys head over and like our page so that you won’t miss the next video! We’re hosting a giveaway for this week.

Thursday & Friday – So much sameness for Thursday. Sweet time with my babies and a job to go to. 🙂 I got a lot of great mail this week. Some new Nickel & Suede earrings arrived Thursday along with new glasses and contacts that I ordered. Inexplicably my current pair of glasses went missing Friday morning.  So the arrival of my new glasses was perfect. I may or may not be obsessed with them. I’ve taken way too many selfies in them. Oh well. Friday night I got to hang out with my Sister and her husband. We had a great dinner. It’s really nice to get to talk to the adults in my life without two little children underfoot begging you to stop talking and pay attention to them. 😉

Saturday – We hung out with Grammy and Ppop. Uncle Shane came over also. It was pretty much just a chill and relaxing day of hanging out…watching Shane wash his boat and my dad mow the whole neighborhood’s yards (ok that’s an exaggeration…just the neighbor across the street- but still…don’t you wish he was your neighbor?? I know I do!) eating delicious food cooked on the grill…and then the fun time of tearing away a very disappointed four year old who had to come home with Mommy instead of staying the night with his Ppop. That same four year old spent most of the rest of the night telling me how he wanted to go live with his Ppop, because he has a big yard and a pool and a pond and a lawn mower. You know. Unlike us. LOL

Sunday – We went to the park…came home for naps…and then just lounged the rest of the day. I ended the night with the latest Game of Thrones episode which was super great and of course ended way too soon.

What have y’all been up to?

Week In Review: Ashley

Well well…look who’s late to the party? Anyway, I made it…with a few hours to spare! So, let’s see what we were up to last week….

Monday & Tuesday – Usualness allll around over here. Per usual. 😉 Work, school, pick up kids, play time, make dinner (that they don’t eat), break up fights, threaten them with time out, sneak in some kisses and sweet cuddles…then bath and bed time at 7:30.

Wednesday – We were up bright and early to take Coop to school. I told him that after school we’d have to come straight home for naps. However, after Sophie and I met up with Aunt Grace at Target, after school drop off, I decided that we’d surprise Coop and go straight to the Trampoline Park after I picked him up. Wednesday night was Wine Wednesday on our Facebook page. Rhonda and I went live to discuss life…and whatever else came to mind with a glass of wine in hand. It was a lot of fun…make sure you’re there next week to catch the fun!

Friday night there was some shopping…Marshall’s has some super cute home decor stuff out right now. I also stopped by Kohl’s. These two songs are my current obsessions: Jule Vera Bad Company and Imagine Dragons Believer

Saturday – There was actually not another trip to Target. That picture is from Wednesday….. 😉 There was wine and catching up on West World…and some face masks…and as always..meme searching.  I spent Saturday Day at my parents.

Sunday – I had tentative plans to take the kids to the beach BUT of course it rained. Again. Like almost every other day since the beginning of May. So we went back to Grammy and Ppop’s for some family time …and yummy food.  And of course Sunday night was Game of Thrones. 🙂

What were YOU guys up to this past week???

Week in Review: Rhonda

And another week is gone. It’s kind of freaking me out that the weeks are flying by.  I have a vacation coming up at the end of the month and I am not at all prepared.  Yikes.

So… like, what can be said about Monday?  It always feels a little like being fatigued in a swimming pool, trying to climb out on the deep end, but slipping on the tiles.  This week, I spent the day trying to get my life together.  At least I had a crockpot to cook for me and kids who cooperated for the most part.

For school on Tuesday, we were talking about the letter F.  They had an assignment to write their favorite F-words.  When I was transferring their answers into a Venn diagram, I was impressed that “fuck” wasn’t on their lists.  However, when I asked them what they thought my favorite F-word is, all three boys yelled, “fuck!”  Cool.  Claudia wore this new dress for the first time and I totally freaked out over her in it.  So damn cute.  We went to the store and I finally decided to try some coconut vinegar.  I love apple cider vinegar for all its health benefits, but wanted to mix it up a little.  I’ve been taking a daily shot of coconut vinegar and it definitely has a more mild taste than ACV.

Wednesday was super lovely.  I have newly designated hump day as park and library day.  This first run of that worked out very well!  In the evening, I made spaghetti and celebrated Winesday.  Of course, Claudia demanded I read her books to her repeatedly.

Does anyone else have an improvement in mood start around Thursday?  It’s the promise of the weekend to come…. I start getting an extra pep in my step. I didn’t even get annoyed when Claudia wanted to try on all my “card-e-mans.”  Vodka may have played a part in the patience.

I spent Friday running errands and crafting after we finished school for the week.  Lavar Burton has a great Reading Rainbow video about how money is made.  Claudia’s bows have been in a shoebox since we moved here and so things weren’t being worn.  I have beautiful bow holders I made her in the storage unit, but they wouldn’t look right in the half bath, where I do her hair.   I grabbed a couple of inexpensive items (a wall sign from Dollar Tree and ribbon on sale at Michael’s) and made a new one.  Bonus points for the fact that it will match the existing ones in storage once we move this fall.

Saturday was amazing, at it always tends to be.  After manicures and mimosas, and a leg rub, I took the rest of my drink for a car ride.   We tried to make it to an open house, but the realtor had already left.  So we hopped all over the metroplex, hitting up Sam’s Club, Target, and Walmart.  We ended the day with homemade pizza and a Dateline episode.

Sunday went as most of them do around here… did nothing.  Well, I did organize all my writing utensils into my new 160-slot case.  And I definitely did some drinking and eating.  And for sure, as always, did some bed lounging.

Do you also have that one day a week that you just do….nothing?

Week In Review: Ashley

Hey guys, and welcome to the first installments of our Week In Review posts! Each week we plan on giving you guys a little insight into exactly what we’ve been up to. Thanks for stopping by and checking us out.

Most week days are pretty much the same around here. I work, pick up the kids, spend a chaotic 3 hours trying to get stuff done around the house, feed said kids, play, and count down the minutes to bath and bed time….. (juuust kidding, maybe 😉 ) However, I do get one glorious day out of the week that I am off. This week, that day was Thursday. By Wednesday night – This Mommy was ready for a relaxing night and carefree/work free day.

So, Wednesday night we celebrated Winesday, due to some major whining going on around our parts. As you can see, Sophie was thrilled.

Thursday the three of us visited our favorite park, and of course made our rounds to Target and Chick-Fil-A. It’s just what we do. 😉

How cute is that Dr. Suess dress that Sophie is wearing?? We’re obsessed. It’s from Target.

Friday, I had a doctor appointment at the eye doctor. I needed my prescription updated to get new contacts and glasses.

This weekend was pretty chill. We hung out at the house most of the day on Saturday.

This girl. She loves taking selfies…and napping. Pretty much my Mini, and my shadow. 🙂 Coop does his own thing a lot. He also cannot usually be bothered to sit still long enough to take a picture… UNLESS he’s sending a video or picture to his beloved Ppop. Who’s Ppop? That’s my dad, and Cooper’s BFF. Haha

Sunday, we chilled at my parents’ house. My dad cooked some amazing food, including a Superbowl Sunday necessity: wings.

Not pictured: some amazingly delicious stuffed banana peppers. He just halved and cleaned out raw banana peppers. Then he stuffed them with italian sausage, cream cheese, and wrapped them in bacon. Popped them in the oven…. Is your mouth watering yet? Because, I mean. YUM. I think I ate about four of those.

Sunday night I watched the Superbowl…well sort of. Because. You know, kids. I did get to actually sit down and watch the last quarter, because the babies were sleeping. And, from what I could tell, that last quarter (and overtime) was the best of the game. So happy for the Patriots and Tom Brady. The man just won his FIFTH Superbowl championship title, and he was super emotional as if it was his first. It was so cute. I’m not a regular Patriots fan…just not a Falcons fan. At all. So. Yay Patriots! 🙂 I haven’t watched Lady Gaga’s concert…I mean halftime show….yet. We were in the middle of bath/bedtime routines during that. BUT it is recorded on the DVR. So, I’ll watch that tonight.

Okay, so that was my Week in Review! Thanks for making it all the way to the end with me. Make sure you click on over and check out what Rhonda was up to as well.
